Hear it: stab the B chord, let the low B ring under the muting, flick the 7h9 on the G string, then walk the dyads down. The whole thing sits in one position — your hand barely moves.

Component 1 — the B-major anchor

The chord the whole riff hangs off. Six strings, but the colour is the G-string D♯ (♮3). Drill it as a clean, palm-muted stab — fret it once, strike it tight, kill it.

Fingering: low B with the 1st finger (E-7), barre/roll the top end, 3rd finger reaches the D-string 9. Don't let it bloom into a sustained chord — it's a percussive hit.

Component 2 — the hammer answer

The melodic flick on the G string: D hammered to E. This is the phrase that answers every stab. Loop it until the hammered 9 speaks as loud as the picked 7.

Watch: in the riff the 9 carries vibrato (the wavy line) — let that note sing slightly before the mute clamps back down.

Component 3 — the slide/pull lick (bar 6 variation)

When the riff repeats into the B (major) bar, the answer mutates into a sliding figure: E up to F and back, then pulled to D. Same G string, same position.

Component 4 — the descending dyads (the turnaround)

Bar 4's F/C → E/B move. Two-note shapes walking down the D and G strings, palm-muted, landing on the E/B triad with a ¼-tone smear. This is what resolves the phrase.

Shape it: keep the two fretting fingers locked a fret apart and just shift the block down the neck — it's one hand-shape sliding, not four separate grabs.

Component 5 — the mute engine + ghost pulses

Underneath everything: a relentless palm-muted pulse and the ghosted (9) / dead-string chucks that fill the gaps. Build this first — if the pulse wobbles, the riff falls apart.
