Every control below is named as it appears on the unit, sourced from the manufacturer's own manual. Knob faces show position; switches show the position by name. Two patches, one per player.
Three things I had wrong last time
The knob is POWER, and it's Suhr's Power Scaling: it adjusts the voltage feeding the output section, and therefore the wattage. DRIVE feeds the input to the power section, and with Power at 10 it behaves as a master volume. Suhr's own rule of thumb: when you turn Power down, keep Drive within two numbers of the Power setting. Set Drive lower than Power and it gets brighter, like a conventional master-volume amp. Panel is Power, Drive, Bass, Middle, Treble, Gain — numbered 0–10, no clock positions, no bright switch, no presence.
Every Badger has a buffered all-tube effects loop, rated by Suhr to work with pedals or line-level rack gear. That's a live option for the wet feed if you'd rather take the split post-preamp than in front.
Landau used an SD9 as his main distortion for years, then asked Vemuram to build a pedal with the SD9's qualities minus the harshness and over-compression. The Butter Machine is that pedal — the SD9 was the explicit starting point. Stacking them isn't layering two voices, it's running one circuit into its own successor. Pick one. In both patches below, only one is ever live.
Every knob, every switch, in signal order
Fat, liquid, touch-sensitive. Suhr S with the ML Landau single-coils, neck or neck+middle. The Butter Machine carries the whole voice — everything else is support, and the amp is doing real work rather than sitting clean.
Midrange-forward, tighter, chorus-soaked, attack intact. Same guitar, opposite priorities. The Venus is the engine here — a real-valve Tube Driver voicing with a sweepable mid that the Butter Machine can't reach.
Where the control names came from
Every knob name, switch label and factory reference setting below is taken from the manufacturer's published documentation, not from memory.
Strymon and Mesa values are from working knowledge rather than a manual pull this round, and the Broadcast's gain switch has shipped as both two-position and three-position depending on build — check yours before setting it. The Butter Machine's two trimpots are internal on some units and external on others.
